A gun-toting man robbed a woman of her credit cards at a downtown bus stop Wednesday night around 11:30.

The woman, who is in her early 20s, exited the bus in the 8100 of 161st Avenue Northeast and an African American man came up to her, pushed her and then tried to grab her purse, according to Jim Bove, Redmond police spokesperson. As the woman resisted, the man showed the woman a handgun he had inside his jacket pocket, Bove continued. During the scuffle, the woman’s credit cards fell out of her purse. That’s when the suspect grabbed the credit cards and ran northbound toward the fire station, Bove said.

The woman began screaming for help. Bove said Redmond police arrived on the scene and tried to track the suspect using K-9 Vader, but could not find the suspect.

Both the woman and a witness provided statements to the police, according to Bove.
