The Grizzlies scored just eight points in the first quarter and led 18-14 at the break, but their offensive output was just enough to keep the Warriors at bay.

Lucas Peterson scored 16 for the Grizzlies, who improved to 7-0 in league play and 12-3 overall.

LADY GRIZZLIES ON A ROLL

The Bear Creek School girls’ basketball team had no trouble with Chief Leschi Wednesday night at home in a Sea-Tac 2B league matchup, routing the Warriors 35-16.

The Grizzlies led 11-3 after the first quarter and continued to pad the lead.

Nine different players scored for Bear Creek, led by Morgan Rial with eight and Kristina Engelstone with six.

The Grizzlies are now 7-0 in league play and 12-0 overall.

MUSTANGS BLASTED BY SPARTANS

The Redmond High girls’ basketball squad dropped its fourth straight 4A Kingco game on Wednesday night at home, falling to a strong Skyline team, 58-29.

The difference was in the second quarter, when the Mustangs scored just one bucket and fell behind 31-12 at the half, never recovering.

The girls are now 2-10 in league play and 4-14 overall.
