Hobbs scores twice as Overlake beats Meridian, reaches state semis | 1A State Girls Soccer

With a 2-0 win over Meridian on Saturday, Overlake has reached the semifinals of the 1A state girls soccer tournament.

At Interlake High, Alex Hobbs scored in the second minute off an assist from Sofia Beachman, and Hobbs tallied again on a penalty kick in the 11th minute.

Goalkeeper Julia Noble notched the shutout.

Overlake (18-1) will battle Kings in the semis at 2 p.m. on Friday at Shoreline Stadium.

The victor of that match will take on the winner of the Cascade (Leavenworth)/La Salle game in the championship match at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shoreline Stadium. The third-/fourth-place game will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the same location.
