Laufasa, Rebels run past Mustangs in football season opener

The Redmond High football team was unable to stop speedy senior running back Jerimiah Laufasa on Friday night at home, allowing him to score four times in a 41-7 non-league loss to the Juanita Rebels.

The Redmond High football team was unable to stop speedy senior running back Jerimiah Laufasa on Friday night at home, allowing him to score four times in a 41-7 non-league loss to the Juanita Rebels.

Laufasa ran in a 53-yarder in the second quarter which put the Rebels up 13-0, before Redmond responded with a drive and 2-yard score by quarterback Michael Conforto.

After that it was all Juanita as Laufasa scored on runs of 55, 1 and 6 yards in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

The Mustangs next play on the road this Friday against Lake Washington, which beat Garfield 34-2 in their season opener for just its third win in the last three seasons.
