Three Redmond High School golfers placed in the top 20 during this week's state-tournament action, while golfers from the Overlake and Bear Creek schools also carded notable performances.

Three Redmond High School golfers placed in the top 20 during this week’s state-tournament action, while golfers from the Overlake and Bear Creek schools also carded notable performances.

Redmond High senior Keira O’Hearn finished 11th at the Class 4A state tournament after firing a 75 on Tuesday and an 83 on Wednesday for a two-day total of 158 in windy conditions at Spokane’s MeadowWood Golf Course.

Redmond High senior twins Oliver and Lyle Rudnicki placed 15th and 18th respectively at Spokane’s Hangman Valley Golf Course. Both golfers improved upon their first-round scores. Oliver shot an 82 on Tuesday and then followed that up with a 75 on Wednesday for a two-day total of 157. Lyle finished with a two-day score of 81-77-158. Fueled by the Rudnicki brothers, the Mustang boys finished fifth in the team standings with 46 points.

In Class 1A boys action, The Overlake School junior Daniel Lee finished 19th with a score of 83-80-163 at The Home Course in Dupont.

The Bear Creek School had a solid showing at the Class 1B/2B tournament with Morgan Cadigan leading the way. Cadigan finished fifth with a score of 98-102-200 at the Oakbrook Golf and Country Club in Lakewood. Cadigan’s teammate, Sarah Witt, placed 16th with a 112-109-221. The Bear Creek girls finished third in the team standings with 21 points.

The Bear Creek boys also played at Oakbrook and had three state placers, including two in the top 20. Ricky Olson finished seventh with a pair of 85s for a two-day total of 170. Jacob Imam placed 19th (92-85-177) and Colin Diamond placed 35th (89-102-191). The Bear Creek trio led the Grizzlies to a fourth-place team finish with 62.50 points.
