This summer, the Redmond High School (RHS) Girls Soccer Booster Club is holding its inaugural Junior Stangs Soccer Camp.

The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 19-21 at RHS and is open to girls ages 7-12.

Girls of any skill level will have the opportunity to play on the RHS soccer field and practice skills such as passing, receiving, dribbling, shooting and fun moves. The participates will also be able to play in mini tournaments for game-like experience.

Current RHS soccer players will teach the three-day camp. Ellen Hilbun, one of the varsity captains, shares her excitement: “This camp is a huge deal for my teammates and me. We hope this is going to be a great experience for the younger girls and really leave a lasting impression on the kids and families.”

The attendees will receive a camp T-shirt and water bottle to bring home. (The campers should bring their own water and a soccer ball.)

In the fall, the girls will be invited back to an actual RHS soccer match for a reunion where they will be honored.

Coach Stacy Masters adds, “I am so excited that this camp will provide young girls with the unique opportunity to be mentored by current Redmond High School players. I think it will be a win-win for everyone and I’m really looking forward to watching this program grow in the years to come.”

Space is limited and registration closes by July 1.
