The City of Redmond is seeking volunteers to help remove invasive weeds such as scotch broom and blackberries along the Redmond Central Connector (RCC) trail.

“The Redmond Central Connector is an award-winning trail and we are very excited that the second phase of the project will be built this year. Removing the invasive weeds from the trail corridor will help beautify the area and protect the longevity of the trail. We really appreciate the community’s willingness to help out,” said David Shaw, senior park planner.

A volunteer work party is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. City of Redmond staff will be present to train and direct volunteers. Parking will be available at Overlake Christian Church and Willows Business Center on the north side of Nnortheast 95th Street along Willows Road Northeast. Volunteers will need to sign waivers and the forms will be available onsite. Tools and gloves will also be provided. If groups are unavailable that day, they are welcome to arrange alternative dates with city staff.
